The Jets and Bills will face each other on 'Thursday Night Football' and the game will be streamed live on Twitter.
Both Tyrod Taylor and Ryan Fitzpatrick waited for a while this offseason to try and get the best deals possible from their teams. Fitzpatrick hit the free agency market but drew little interest outside of the New York Jets, while Taylor wanted to maximize on his excellent 2015 campaign for the Buffalo Bills with a lucrative extension.
Eventually, both rejoined their teams with new deals and retained their starting jobs. Unfortunately, neither quarterback was able to help get a win in Week 1. The Jets fell to the Cincinnati Bengals and the Bills lost to the Baltimore Ravens.
On Thursday, these AFC East rivals will face each other on Thursday Night Football. The featured matchup will be broadcast on CBS, and will have the distinction of being the first of this season's games to be live streamed on Twitter.
And like last season, this game will be under the NFL's Color Rush moniker, though rather than a hideous red vs. green abomination like we saw last season, the Bills will wear all red and the Jets will wear all white.
For the Bills, keep an eye on wide receiver Sammy Watkins. His surgically repaired foot became an issue on Sunday and there were reports suggesting he might need to miss time. For now, the Bills don't think it's an issue, but he's a huge part of Buffalo's offense and his loss would be significant.
On the Jets' end, it will be interesting to see how running back Matt Forte performs. He has been beat up in recent seasons and tends to fade as the season progresses, but he looked good in his first Jets regular-season game, putting up 96 yards on 22 carries.
