Pac-12 Tournament 2016: Bracket, schedule and scores

There are a lot of teams with a reasonable shot to win the Pac-12 Tournament.

The Pac-12 might not have a truly elite team this year, but with lots of parity, it has a number of teams that might be able to make a run in the conference tournament, which is held March 9-12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Arizona went into the season as the conference favorite, but since then, Oregon has taken that title. The Ducks aren't perfect, as they have non-conference losses to UNLV and Boise State to their name, as well as four conference losses, but they beat Arizona and won their last five games — two over likely NCAA Tournament teams — to win the Pac-12 outright.

There are also some surprise contenders this year. USC has finally emerged as a good team under coach Andy Enfield, and Oregon State, which hasn't made the NCAA Tournament since 1990, is on track to make the Big Dance under star guard Gary Payton II. Cal and Utah have realized their talent and are on a roll after slow starts to the season.

On the other side, there are talented teams that have underachieved. Arizona still have the potential to make a run, while UCLA, which is likely going to miss the NCAA Tournament, has the talent to pull off an upset or two.

The Format

The top four teams — No. 1 Oregon, No. 2 Utah, No. 3 Cal and No. 4 Arizona — get byes until Thursday. The winner of No. 8 Washington vs. No. 9 Stanford plays Oregon, the winner of No. 7 USC vs. No. 10 UCLA plays Utah, the winner of No. 6 Oregon State vs. No. 11 Arizona State plays Cal and the winner of No. 5 Colorado vs. No. 12 Washington State plays Arizona. The semifinals and championship follow on Friday and Saturday, following standard bracket procedures.
