The incident came while Lochte was receiving the judges scores.
Ryan Lochte was back in the spotlight on Monday night as he made his debut on Dancing with the Stars. Like the last time Lochte was in the spotlight, odd and confusing events occurred. This time, it was a pair of anti-Lochte protestors rushing the stage on live television.
According to Entertainment Weekly, two men rushed onto the stage wearing shirts with Lochte's name crossed out. The two men tried to block a camera, according to Kate Coyne of People, and were tackled by security on stage. Additional protesters were in the crowd shouting during the incident, according to Entertainment Weekly. It all unfolded on live TV as Lochte and his dancing partner Cheryl Burke were receiving comments from the judges. The ABC broadcast did not show the protesters, but did show the reactions as the situation was unfolding.

Nearly a month ago, Lochte made headlines when he claimed that he and three other Team USA swimmers were robbed at gunpoint during a night out at the Rio Olympics. As the days and weeks went on, the story changed and the truth eventually came out that Lochte and others had caused damage at a gas station bathroom. Lochte went on to recant his story, and was heavily criticized for the entire situation.
Dancing with the Stars initially seemed like an opportunity for him to repair his reputation in front of a national audience. It seems, however, some people are not ready to move on just yet.
