Aly Raisman predicted she'd be an Olympic gymnast when she was a 9-year-old at summer camp

Aly Raisman has become one of the most decorated gymnasts in United States history. Appearing in her second Olympics this year, she's already won five medals, including three golds and the silver in the women's individual all-around she won on Thursday. It's a career few would could have predicted.

Except for Raisman herself when she was 9 years old.

That glorious 2003 summer camp memory comes from Emily Cohn the managing editor of Tech Insider. When asked what she would be in 20 years the now 22-year-old Raisman said "An Olympic gymnast." That was a bold prediction for a 9-year-old. And yet somehow she even managed to undersell just how good she'd be. She's a two-time Olympic gymnast, a three-time gold medalist and counting. Raisman has helped the United States win two team golds, was part of arguably the most dominant gymnastics team ever and has had considerable individual success.

And she knew that success was coming all along.
