
Three straight delay of game penalties is so rare.
For all intents and purposes, the Pittsburgh Penguins had a firm grip on Game 6 midway through the third period.
They led the Washington Capitals, 3-1, and had avoided penalty trouble all night. And then the dreaded delay of game penalty struck.
A primer: if you're playing the puck in your own zone and shoot it out of the rink, you get to kill off a power play for the next two minutes. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's so frustrating for fans.
And it happened to the Penguins THREE STRAIGHT TIMES.

And an easy Game 6 win slipped through Pittsburgh's fingers and into the crowd.
