It was the same shoulder that Noah injured in December.
Joakim Noah may miss more time after suffering another shoulder separation against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, as confirmed by Chicago Bulls PR.
Noah immediately ran off the floor after a collision with JaVale McGee and went straight to the locker room holding his left shoulder, which is the same one he injured on Dec. 21 that caused him to miss nine games. When he injured his shoulder the first time, the Bulls waited two weeks before ruling out surgery.

In Noah's absence, the Bulls have found more minutes for second-year player Nikola Mirotic and rookie Bobby Portis off the bench, while Taj Gibson and Pau Gasol continue to start.

Noah was having a poor season even before the injuries, shooting under 40 percent from the floor and averaging the fewest minutes in his career in any season besides his rookie one -- a dramatic decline for a player who was considered an MVP player several seasons ago.
